Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's Eventful Trip to India

After being stranded in India for two days due to a technical issue with his official aircraft, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau left New Delhi on Tuesday afternoon amidst ferocious online harassment from his detractors both in India and at home.
Trudeau left New Delhi after the replacement plane that was supposed to pick him up was diverted in Europe, delaying its arrival and perhaps forcing him to spend an extra night in the capital. He then flew away with a formal farewell in the afternoon after his administration made it known that the airplane that had transported him into India had been repaired.

For Trudeau, his second trip to India was very similar to the one he made in 2018. Both times, the important aspects were overshadowed by Canada's unwillingness to deal with Khalistani forces, mostly due to sympathizers within his coalition partners who are supporting his government.
According to the report from the external affairs ministry on his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the fringes of the G20 conference on Sunday, India is believed to have given him an earful this time as well. It was unusually incisive and expressed India's frustration with Canada. After bidding an official farewell and arranging for a ship to be transported him into India, he left in the afternoon.

The Prime Minister "conveyed our strong concerns about the continuing anti-Indian activities of extremist elements in Canada," the ministry said.
