2.Provide a Reason for Rejected Requests

3. Offer Customers a Free Full Credit Report Annually

 The RBI instructed credit companies. They must give customers a free annual credit score report. To make it easier, display a link to the credit company's website. Customers can check their full credit history and CIBIL score.

4. Inform Customers Before Reporting Default

 Banks and financial institutions must inform customers before reporting default. Send notifications via SMS or email to share default information.

Include all relevant information in the notifications sent via SMS or email. Banks and loan-granting institutions must appoint nodal officers. These officers will handle credit score-related issues. Additionally, this is a requirement.


5. Resolve Complaints Within 30 Days

Credit information companies must resolve customer complaints within 30 days.

If they fail, they will be fined INR 100 per day. The longer it takes to address a complaint, the higher the penalty. Banks have 21 days to inform the credit bureau, while credit bureaus have 9 days to resolve the issue. Failure to adhere to these timelines will result in penalties.
