Heath Streak Is Alive: The whole cricket community is in grief following the news that renowned all-rounder and former Zimbabwe team captain Heath Streak passed away at the age of 49 from cancer. Henry Olanga, a former teammate who initially reported Streak's death, has since clarified that the report is false and that Streak is still alive. He further confirmed this by texting Streak.
The news that Heath Streak had passed on to the other world was previously announced by Henry Olanga in a tweet. I pray for peace for the great Zimbabwean cricketer's soul. It's been a pleasure playing with you. In addition to erasing this tweet, he also asserted that the streak was still on.
Olanga stated in a tweet, "I can certify that Heath Streak's death news circulated quite quickly. I recently spoke with him. He was summoned by the third umpire. He is really animated and absolutely alive.

The family had provided details regarding cancer:Due to a disagreement with the board, Heath Streak, the previous captain of the Zimbabwean squad, retired from international cricket at the young age of 31. For Zimbabwe, Streak has participated in 189 ODIs and 65 Tests. During this time, he amassed 455 wickets and 4933 runs across both forms.Streak entered the coaching industry in the year 2005, serving as a coach for the IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders as well as for Zimbabwe and Bangladesh. Due to five violations of the 5 Anti-Corruption Code in the year 2021, the streak was given an 8-year ban by the ICC. While in the year 2023, his family released a statement claiming that he is battling cancer and receiving treatment in South Africa.
